Hayden's Birthday

Hayden turned 2 last month! He is getting to be such a big boy, but he is such a good boy! We love him dearly! Hayden was so lucky to have some of his cousins here for his birthday. His birthday fell on a Wednesday, and Ben was working that day, so we decided to celebrate on Sunday instead. We had a houseful of family. Ben and I made him a horse cake--because horses are his favorite! We had a little birthday party for him--we had stick-horse races and made brown grocery bags into vests. They also played with balloons. It was a fun time. Hayden liked his cake and ice cream, but I am pretty sure the presents were his favorite! He had lots of fun playing with his toys. In fact, he opened all but 2 of his gifts (they were from us) so we saved them for him to open on his birthday. He was so disappointed in them, though, because they weren't toys (he got an outfit and a big lift-the-flap Johnny Tractor book). It was so funny! I am so sad that he is growing up so fast, but it is bound to happen, as we all know. He is such a sweet and loving little man. One of my favorite things he did just recently was when I was holding him, he layed his head on my shoulder as he was giving me a hug, and he said, "I love my mommy." It just melted my heart!
