She was doing so well until the nurse came in to put in her IV. She was a little bit scared by then, but she was still so brave--"it only hurt a little bit, but I'm okay." All of the nurses and the doctor loved her! Here she is after she got her IV put in--she got a pink "cast" and the nurse put one on her bear, too.

I was doing okay until they took her away, then I started to get a bit more nervous. When she was out of surgery, Dr. Peterson came back in to let me know that things went well and to go over a few things for recovery. While he was finishing up, a nurse from recovery came in to get me to come back to recovery--I was surprised they let me back there! It broke my heart completely to see my little girl in such pain! I was trying so hard to comfort her and keep myself together. She kept telling me that she didn't want to get her tonsils out--I think she was kinda mad! I ended up on Jenna's bed holding her, and they wheeled us back to her room. I fell apart when we got back. I think that was one of the hardest things I have had to do--watch my little girl in so much pain--even knowing that it will be better for her in the long run!
Once we got her settled down and after she slept for a little bit, we got her to eat--she was excited for jell-o, popsicles, pudding, juice, and a milkshake! She did okay for a while. When she would get up to use the bathroom, it seemed to upset her little tummy a bit and once she was back in bed, she seemed to be okay.

I was grateful for the time when we were able to come home! That night she threw up some, but then she would be fine for a while. Her tummy kept feeling yucky off and on, and we finally decided that it was because of all of the medicine and lack of food in her tummy. We did our best to keep her hydrated and fed, and now she is doing much better. She's done a lot of sleeping on the couch and air mattress, coloring, and watching movies during her recovery.

It has been a week and a half and she is pretty well off meds and says her ears still hurt occasionally, but is feeling well otherwise. We are so glad she is doing better!
