Christmas

Since it's been about 2 months now, I've decided it's officially time to blog about Christmas! :) Then I can start updating 2011!

Christmas Eve we had our traditional turkey dinner...and was it ever delicious! I look forward to it every year...especially for the leftover turkey sandwiches!!! Yep, they are one of my favorite things! We ate turkey, potatoes and gravy, rolls, cranberry jell-o salad, and green beans (maybe). Grandma and Grandpa Yearsley and Diana joined us for dinner. We had a good time! We also watched Luke II and the kids opened their Christmas pajamas. I made the older 3 kids 2 pairs of jamma pants, and Dallie one pair--it's a good thing they are easy to sew, but it was fun to do!

We also let the kids open 2 more gifts--one was a Sunday box--C got a skirt, and the rest got new scripture bags (I made all of these, too).

The other gift was a rifle for the kiddos--a semi-auto 22! Don't worry, I tested it out before we wrapped it up...it's fun to shoot!

And I got THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!! Ben had to go pick it up on Christmas Eve, so I got it around 10:30-11 o'clock that night. What a fun surprise! We absolutely LOVE the island and don't know what we ever did without it! It doubles our counter space, and I love that I can move it! That was one thing I was adamant about--that it was on casters.

And this is what Ben got...on Christmas, but he was still excited!

Christmas morning didn't come as early as either Ben or I thought it would! The kids slept in until 7:30ish, I think (it's been so long that I can't remember!), but I was up at 5 and couldn't go back to sleep--grr! Cami and Jenna came upstairs first, then Hayden, and Dallie was the last to wake up. The kids all enjoyed their gifts from Santa, we ate breakfast and then the fun began--it's so much fun having kids at Christmas! They were all so excited and so happy! Dallie was the funniest when she opened her dolls--she seriously gasped and shrieked "baby!" She was SOOO excited!

I think they all got sufficiently spoiled this year--for the most part, I think they all got pretty much what they wanted. And we were able to do some big family gifts this year--the gun, a kid's saddle, and a wii!!! We stayed home this year, played together, ate lots of leftovers, and it was so nice and relaxing! We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas as well!
