Shaylee's Blessing

Last weekend was Shaylee's big weekend! We had family visiting for Shaylee's blessing and we had so much fun! We began the weekend with Thomas and Jill staying with us on Friday night--we ate pizza, played the wii, and painted nails. The kids had a great time playing--and Hayden was in heaven to have a boy cousin to play with!

Saturday is when most everyone else showed up. It was nice to have time to sit and visit, take the kids on horse rides and go to dinner at Red Robin. Jenn and Dennis stayed with us on Saturday night--and we enjoyed their visit--next time we're playing more Scrabble SLAM! :)




Sunday morning was spent getting ready for church, getting ready for the luncheon, cousins playing, etc. Thank heavens for Walmart's 6-foot subs--that made things 100 times easier! Church was at 1 pm. Ben gave the blessing, ours dads, brothers (Matt, Dustan, Dennis, Kevin, and Thomas), and Tobin stood in the circle. Shaylee was blessed with the Light of Christ, to make good choices, and gospel knowledge to be with her throughout her life. She is a very special addition to our family. We love her so much. She is a sweet baby.

My mom made her dress, just as she has for all of our other children. I chose the pattern and the material and mom worked her magic! The dress turned out perfect! Thank you so much mom! I made Shaylee's headband, and Cami made her bracelet. And Shaylee used the "blessing blanket". My grandma made it for Cami when she was blessed and I've used it for all of the kids--it will be something that can be passed through each family later on.

Following sacrament meeting, we all came back to the house for a scrumptious meal of sub sandwiches, chips, salads and veggie / fruit trays, cake and cookies. What day would be complete without games??? We played "What's Yours Like?" that evening.
