* JUNE * Part 1 *

Okay, okay...school is back in session, so I technically SHOULD have time to sit and blog, right??? Well, I'm not going to say one way or the other right now, but today I am going to attempt some catching up one month at a time. That is my new goal--at LEAST blog a month at a time...if not more often. So here goes!

In Idaho, school gets out in May...at least this part of Idaho. So June was summer vacation for us! Our biggest plan included the Yearsley Family Reunion...and we were in charge. Ben and I had been talking about since last fall trying to come up with some good ideas. We finally decided to go with a western theme.
So we named all of the rooms in our house--as this was going to be the Rafter Y Bed & Breakfast for everyone who didn't want to sleep outside in a tent. We had the outhouse, the buckaroo bunkhouse, the Sheriff's office, the dance hall, the road apple suite, the boarding house, the saddle shop, the bath house and the chuckwagon. Our family reunion was the weekend of June 10-12. Friday night, everyone arrived, got settled and brought their own dinners. We had a campfire, played chubby bunny, made smores and told stories. And, as always, had some good laughs.

Jon was the ChUbBiEsT BuNnY out of the adults and the winner of the kids contest I can't remember, so let me know if you do--and I obviously didn't get their picture--they won a bag of giant marshmallows.

On Saturday, we had our very own rodeo.
Everyone got to participate.
We had HORSEY RIDES

BARREL RACING

Kudos to Janae for getting on the horse...let alone with Declan attached!

STEER RIDING

Kathryn and I did it! (Don't mind my yucky picture!) I did fall off and get hurt--my hip got bruised really bad, but was still glad I did it--I didn't have any regrets! :) Kathryn was fine...she watched me and was halfway off before she got out of the chute.
RIBBON ROPING

CHICKEN CHASE

ROAD APPLE HUNT for the kiddos

After lunch we shot skeet, visited, and had some down time to do whatever.

That night everyone was a bit worn out from the previous late night and being in the sun and wind all day long so we had dinner, handed out prizes for the rodeo, we may or may not have done some fireworks and we put kids to bed at a somewhat decent hour.

Fun in the tent

The "big kids" aka the adults stayed up and played the train game and laughed until our tummies hurt and then some!

Sunday was clean-up and visiting and eating and everyone went home.
Thank you for a great time everyone!
